A Rice Production Development of the Rice Farmers

Abstract
The research aimed to study the management of the rice production and the general conditions of rice production and the demand for rice production development, and to explore the guidelines to improve the rice production of the rice farmers in Amnat Charoen province. The targets were two groups of the communal enterprise that was recognized as having the best practice, and 65,971 farming households that produced the seasonal rice in 2016. All 397 households were randomly selected via multi-stage sampling. The research instruments were an interview and a questionnaire. Statistics used in data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The research results revealed that
rice production of farmers in Amnat Charoen province yielded an average of 347.2 kilograms per rai, average cost per kilogram of 4.02 baht, average selling price of 10.71 baht per kilogram, an average profit of 6.69 baht per kilogram, and average income of 3,718.51 baht per rai. Management of the rice production in the province was overall at moderate level ( = 3.33, S.D. = .62). The guidelines for the rice production development of the rice farmers in Amnat Charoen consisted of three strategies: Strategy 1 was about a development of the rice production infrastructure and resources. Strategy 2 was about an increased efficiency of rice production and rice products. And strategy 3 was about an increased capacity to compete in marketing and management of goods and rice products.
