The Creation of Fine Art (Painting): Sufficiency Village Series of Wiang Prasan Community, Wat Pradu, Mueang Surat Thani, Surat Thani Province

Abstract

The objectives of this research were 1) to explore the sufficiency lifestyle of villagers in Wiang Prasarn community at Wiang Prasarn Wat Pradu Sub-district, Mueang Suratthani, Surat Thani, 2) to record stories of villager' self-sufficiency through the painting process, and 3) to
publish paintings of the “Village Sufficiency Series” as a place to study the process of art creation and instill awareness of the story of sufficiency. This study was designed as qualitative research involving collecting photographs, sketching, in-depth interview, and participatory observation. The data analysis were to select images of arts works with the concept of lifestyle in artistic elements , and to present descriptive analysis research.
The results showed that the local people who live in the Wiang Prasarn community with their life depend on the seasonal nature of
products and sustaining lives at different times throughout the year with generosity sharing with people in the community. This creative work is on village sufficiency through a 2D painting procedure in the name of “The
Village Sufficiency Series” by using oil painting techniques on the seven pieces of canvas. The Village Sufficiency Series were publicized in an art exhibition to study the process of arts working and promote consciousness of the sufficiency through the youth and local community villagers to
understand the value and beauty of the sufficient life.
