The Development of an Information System for School Health Service : A Case of Suratthani 2 School

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop the information system of school health service for Suratthani School 2 that was conducted as the developmental research. The in-depth interview was managed to collect data from 5 key informants of the school management in order to develop the information system as follows: 1) to plan and study the former working system structure of the school health service, 2) to analyze problems and collect data for developing the information system, 3) to design the system, 4) to develop the system with Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 and Appserv 8.3, 5) to install and examine the system after using it and 6) to estimate thesystem by gathering data from 125 respondents of those who used theproposed information system as follows: 5 staffs of the school health service center proceeded by purposive sampling and 120 users who took services of the school health center proceeded by accidental sampling. The research tool for these 2 key informants is the questionnaire about the perspectives of satisfaction towards the information system of school health service for Suratthani School 2.According to the findings of this research, the information system of school health service for Suratthani School 2 is able to facilitate its users about the information storage and the information retrieval; the effective process for the kinds of information report to the management. The study of the satisfaction towards the information system of school health service for Suratthani School 2 was calculated by the Mean of 4.04 and represented in the level of good in total. While as the same time, each aspect was considered as follows: The Mean of the information processing, resulting and reporting was shown by 4.15; the Mean of the information inputting was shown by 4.01; the Mean of the users’ information synchronization was shown by 3.97; and the Mean of the quality of system was shown by 3.90. respectively.
