บทคัดย่อ

บทความวิชาการเรื่องนี้จะอธิบายถึงการสัมผัสภาษากับสังคมไทย สัมพันธ์กับลักษณะประชากรในเมืองใหญ่ของโลกที่ส่วนมากพูดได้มากกว่าหนึ่งภาษา การใช้ภาษาเหล่านั้นในชีวิตประจำวันทำให้แต่ละภาษามีอิทธิพลต่อกัน เกิดการสลับภาษาและการปนภาษาซึ่งทำให้ภาษาหลักเกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลง. การสัมผัสภาษาเกิดขึ้นหลายปัจจัยไม่ว่าจะเป็นภาวะสงคราม การอพยพ การเมือง การค้าขาย เป็นสำคัญ สังคมไทยเกิดการสัมผัสภาษามาตั้งแต่สุโขทัย อยุธยา ด้วยปัจจัยด้านการอพยพและการค้า จนถึงปัจจุบันที่มีปัจจัยทางสังคมใหม่เพิ่มเข้ามา หลักฐานทางประวัติศาสตร์แสดงการปนภาษาต่างประเทศในภาษาไทยและการเรียนภาษาต่างประเทศของคนไทย ปัจจุบันคนไทยเป็นผู้พูดหลายภาษาจึงทำให้เกิดการปนภาษาและการสลับภาษาระหว่างภาษากรุงเทพกับภาษาไทยถิ่นและระหว่างภาษากรุงเทพกับภาษาต่างประเทศ ดังนั้น ปรากฏการณ์การสัมผัสภาษาจึงส่งผลให้เกิดการเปลี่ยนแปลงของภาษาไทยเช่นเดียวกับภาษาทั่วโลกที่ยังคงมีชีวิตและกำลังอยู่ระหว่างการเปลี่ยนแปลง
