The Survey on Situation of Older Adults Enhancement in Community to Promote the Development of Preschoolers

Abstract
This research is an exploratory study with the objective of examining the situation of older adults enhancement in community to promote the development of preschoolers. Participants were purposively selected to include 400 elderly of the Health Region 5. The research employed a questionnaire as the data collection instrument, demonstrating a reliability coefficient of 0.86. Statistical analysis included percentages, means, and standard deviations. The research findings are summarized as follows: the mean and standard deviation of the situation of enhancing the potential of the elderly in the community in promoting the development of pre-school children revealed a high overall level (x̄ = 3.64, S.D. = 0.66). When examining individual items, respondents demonstrated the highest level of capability in performing activities related to promoting the development of pre-school children, such as storytelling, artistic activities, singing, and dancing (x̄ = 4.82, S.D. = 0.48). Additionally, respondents expressed a high level of importance for promoting the development of pre-school children (x̄ = 4.70, S.D. = 0.57), and perceived old age as a limitation to participating in such activities (x̄ = 1.92, S.D. = 0.55), ranking lowest among the factors considered.
