A Study for Intolerance of Uncertainty among Phetchaburi Rajabhat University Students

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to: 1) study intolerance of uncertainty among Phetchaburi Rajabhat University students; 2) compare intolerance of uncertainty classified by faculty of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University students. The sampling group were 109 first year students of Faculty of Education and Humanities students Phetchaburi Rajabhat University in academic year 2566 by purposive sampling. The tools used in the research was intolerance of uncertainty inventory. It consists of Part 1: General information of the respondent in a checklist format, Part 2: Questions on intolerance of uncertainty in a 5-point rating scale format. The scoring criteria are: very much, much, moderate, little, least. The data were analyzed by using mean, standard deviation and dependent t-test. The results shown as the follows: 1) intolerance of uncertainty was at a higher level than the standard (mean 39.84, higher than the standard average of 25-36). It was divided into intolerance of uncertainty among Faculty of Education students (mean 39.04, higher than the standard average of 25-36) and intolerance of uncertainty among Faculty of Humanities students (mean 41.62, higher than the standard average of 25-36), and 2) the results of comparing the intolerance of uncertainty among students in the Faculty of Education and Humanities found that there was no significant difference in intolerance of uncertainty at the .05 level.
