The Promotion of Phetchaburi Rajabhat University Students’ Vocabulary Learning Skills through Spaced-Repetition Application (Anki)

Abstract

          This research aimed to study the effectiveness of Spaced-Repetition Application (Anki) in promoting vocabulary learning skills for Thai EFL students in a local university in Thailand. The samples were 30 students participating in the research project. The research adopted both quantitative and qualitative methods for the examination. Descriptive statistics, including percent, mean, standard deviation were used for the quantitative data. In addition, the qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis. The results revealed that 1) the English vocabulary training through the spaced-repetition application (Anki) was effective at 88.23/87.72, 2) the improvement scores was 34.47%, 3) the students agreed that the English vocabulary training through the spaced-repetition application (Anki) was effective, and 4) the students’ interviews toward their experiences in vocabulary learning through Spaced-Repetition Application indicated positive feedback.
