Art Education with A Student - Centered Focus on Local Development

Abstract

This academic paper about art education emphasized on learners as a vital aspect of local development. The purpose of this article was to present a broad or holistic integration of art education teaching and learning that relates knowledge content. Moreover, it involved the use of technology and student-centered communication related to real-life situations in society, community, and authentic local context; project-based learning, place-based learning, community-based learning, active learning, backward design learning, and empowering learning by incorporating art education into the practical process with a focus on learners as an important part of local development according to King's science. The principle of the royal project was to "understand, access, and develop" in applying for art education to develop learners' abilities to understand local values as well as keep up with social changes, digital technological advancements, and the new normal. Extending wisdom for living, solving problems, and promoting local sustainability were also significant.
