Abstract

The objectives of this research were to: 1) study and analyze Manchu folk embroidery, Liaoning Province's Intangible Cultural Heritage, The People's Republic of China; and 2) analyze the meaning and aesthetics of Manchu folk embroidery cultural heritage for the development of cultural products.


This research was qualitative research. The research tools used were in-depth interviews. Interview with 5 experts, including cultural inheritors, Manchu folk embroidery designer and experts in the embroidery industry Data from interview content were analyzed regarding connotations. Aesthetic value of the heritage of Manchu embroidery and increasing economic value.


The research found that: 1) Manchu embroidery is distant and outdated in the public's perception and youth lack understanding of the value of traditional culture. There is more interest in new things and the face of fashion trends. Strengthening the promotion of local tourism, exhibitions and use of online platforms can bring traditional culture back into the eyes of the public to create awareness. Understand the meaning, value, and importance of culture which will lead to the inheritance and protection of cultural heritage; and 2) combining traditional elements of Manchu embroidery with innovative modern designs that maintain uniqueness, aesthetics, and cultural significance in the development of contemporary cultural products. Therefore If supported by the government and the development of cultural industries, it will bring added value for the creative economy in Liaoning Province
