THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COMPETENCY-BASED UNIT ABOUT THAI READING AND WRITING COMPETENCY TO DEVELOP THINKING ABOUT THE TOPIC : LET’S READ AND WRITE KHANOM JEEN NAM YOI, A GOOD THING IN PHRAE FOR GRADE 1 STUDENTS

Abstract
The objective of this research was to develop a competency-based unit with the following objectives: 1) To construct and validate a competency-based, 2) To implement a competency-based unit by comparing the thai reading and writing competency to develop thinking with the 70 percent standard, 3) To assess opinion on teaching and learning to a competency-based unit. This study was conducted through research and development methodology. The sample consisted of 20 I grade student, studying in the second semester of the 2023 at AnubanJaroonlongrattanakan School, selected by simple random sampling. This research used one group posttest only design with the 70 percent standard. The research instruments included a competency-based, the thai reading and writing competency to develop thinking test and Questionnaire on opinions towards teaching and learning according to competency-based. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, percentage, and t-test. The research results revealed that: 1. The competency-based unit about thai reading and writing competency to develop thinking ; there were 9 components: 1) Name of learning unit 2) Course learning outcomes 3) Core competencies 4) Specific competencies 5) Competency learning objectives 6) Relationship between competency objectives and learning evidence 7) Learning management 8) learning evaluation and 9) measurement and summative evaluation. The overall results of the appropriateness of learning activities were at the high level (x̄ = 4.43, S.D. = 0.52). The competency-based unit was then piloted for the further improvement. Its result was at a high level of appropriateness and ready for the implementation. 2. The implementation of the competency-based unit about thai reading and writing competency to develop thinking. found that the student's competencies on thai reading and writing competency to develop thinking after learning was higher than the 70 percent standard and statistically significant at the .05 level. 3. The overall average assessment of Grade I students' opinions on the competency-based unit was 4.68, indicating that students agreed with the teaching at the highest level.
