INTEGRATION BETWEEN SOCIAL AND HUMAN CAPITAL: CASES STUDY OF SUFFICIENCY ECONOMY VILLAGES, THAI - CAMBODIAN BORDER

Abstract

         The objectives of this research were to study the patterns and characteristics of the integration between social capital and human capital leading to the model community of sufficiency agriculture of Sufficiency Village * Sa Kaeo Province and Dok Koon Village * Pantia Province. Beautiful Cambodia: To study the problems and approaches for community development of sufficiency agriculture of Sufficiency Village * Sa Kaeo Province, qualitative research. There are four essential key informants: Community leaders Group of villagers capable of occupational skills, Volunteer groups that drive community operations. The workgroup involved 12 Thai government and 12 Cambodian people, totaling 24 people, examining the data using a three-prong investigative method. The results of studies from both communities revealed patterns in the integration between the two communities. Social capital comprises trust, norms, social networks, and human capital comprising knowledge, ideas, character, life skills, and career skills. There are four aspects of integration: 1) Cultural integration 2) Norm integration 3) Communication integration 4) Function integration the problems and obstacles to the development of factual sufficiency agricultural communities are as follows: 1) Unsupported government support based on sustainability 2) Inadequate agricultural resource allocation 3) Villagers follow government advice. 4) The government did not plan for product distribution. And  5) lack of success to the concept of agricultural development based on the sufficiency economy philosophy for youth.
