INTEGRATING BUDDHISM WITH QUALITY MANAGEMENT FOR SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

Abstract

Effective quality management in educational institutions is essential for responding to the needs of its community and adapting to the changes of the future world. As organizational leaders, school administrators play a role in this process. They are responsible for setting the direction, putting policy into practice, leading academic change, and acting as professional executives who have high expectations for success. To achieve these goals, administrators should adhere to several important principles. These include: 1) using the local community as a base, 2) leading the organization with vision, 3) pursuing continuous quality development, 4) using innovation to drive progress, 5) emphasizing the importance of stakeholders, and 6) promoting network participation. These helps develop the institution into a model learning organization with outstanding and widely accepted modern innovation. This is driven by a quality management process consisting of five steps: 1) planning for quality, 2) implementing quality work, 3) supervising for quality, 4) evaluating quality, and 5) developing quality continuously. Driving the mission of managing quality schools, the important elements include: 1) developing student quality, 2) advancing digital technology, 3) improving infrastructure, 4) developing teachers and personnel, and 5) promoting participation in development. When a school develops quality in every dimension, the community and parents gain confidence and faith in the institution. This will lead to the school becoming a quality community school with standards, close to home, and a model educational institution.
