PERCEPTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS OF PATIENT AND RELATIVES TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SEVICES AT HUAI KRACHAO CHALOEMPHRAKIAT 80 PHANSA HOSPITAL

Abstract

The objective of the study was to 1) Examine the expectations and perceptions of patients and relatives regarding Huai Krachao Chahermprakiat 80 phansa Hospital emergency medical service system. 2) Analyze the expectations and perceptions of relatives and patients regarding the emergency medical services system. The sample was patients and relatives who came to receive service at Huai Krachao Chahermprakiat 80 phansa Hospital by the Taro Yamane formula 240 people. This instrument was a general information questionnaire and expectations and perceptions of patients and relatives regarding Huai Krachao Chahermprakiat 80 phansa Hospital emergency medical service system questionnaire. The IOC value was between 0.59-1.00, the confidence in Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient was 0.83. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics and an independent t-test. The results of this research showed that the most of perception in emergency medical service of the patients at Huai Krachao Chahermprakiat 80 phansa Hospital were high level of 52.50% and the relatives 63.00%. Whereas the most of expectations in emergency medical service at Huai Krachao Chahermprakiat 80 phansa Hospital of 73.33% and the relatives 74.17%. For a comparison between the perception and expectation of patients and relatives, it found that the perception and expectation of patients and relatives differ substantially at the statistical level (P = 0.05), while the expectation of emergency medical services in both groups was similar in level.
