THE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPUTER-ASSISTED INSTRUCTION ON PARTS OF SPEECH FOR GRADE-7 STUDENTS AT BOONKHUMRATBAMRUNG SCHOOL

Abstract

The research aimed to 1) to compare the learning achievement of Mathayom Suksa 1 students before and after using computer-assisted instruction on word types. and 2) study grade-7 students’ satisfaction with computer-assisted instruction on parts of speech. This research was a single group experimental with pre-post test. The population consisted of 105 grade-7 students at Boonkhumratbamrung School, Pathum Thani, during the first semester of the 2022 academic year. The samples were 30 students at Boonkhumratbamrung School, Pathum Thani in the first semester of 2022 academic year selected through Cluster Random Sampling. The research tools consisted of 1) Lesson plans, 2) computer-assisted instruction lessons on parts of speech, 3) an achievement test. It consists of pre- and post-tests. It is a multiple choice test with 4 choices of 30 questions, and 4) satisfaction a ssessment form. The duration of the research operation is 10 class periods. The statistics used for data analysis were mean (M) and standard deviation (S.D.). The findings were as follows: 1) Grade-7 students’ learning achievement on parts of speech using skill exercises showed that their post-test score was higher than pre-test score with statistical significance level of 0.05 (t=25.06). 2) Grade-7 students’ satisfaction with computer-assisted instruction on parts of speech using skill exercises was at highest level (M = 4.68, SD = 0.14), which was consistent with the research hypothesis.
