THE DEVELOPMENT GUIDELINES FOR PROMOTING BUDDHIST HEALTH IN THE SITUATION OF THE COVID-19 EPIDEMIC OF MONKS IN KANTHARAWICHAI DISTRICT, MAHA SARAKHAM PROVINCE

Abstract

This article has objectives: 1) study the problems and impacts on Buddhist well-being in the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic of monks in Kantharawichai District, Mahasarakham Province, 2) The process of developing guidelines for promoting Buddhist well-being of monks in Kantharawichai District, Mahasarakham Province and 3) to create a network of Buddhist well-being of monks in Kantharawichai District, Mahasarakham Province. which is a qualitative research and participatory practice by using survey data collection method, participant observation, interview, group discussion, workshop, seminar, and data analysis by content analysis method. Then, there is presentation of analysis descriptive research results. The results of research found that : The Monks have problems and their effects on physical, social, mental and intellectual.The development guidelines for promoting Buddhist health in the situation of the COVID-19 epidemic of monks which has integrated Buddhism with social and medical processes by creating health promotion activities and cooperation networks to comply with the epidemic situation of COVID-19 in order to develop Buddhist health promotion for monks in 4 approaches, namely, guidelines to promoting the health according to problems and impacts with monks, guidelines to promoting the health according to the Dharma and Discipline in accordance with the situation, guidelines to promoting the integrated health of monks with participation and guidelines to promoting the holistic applied health of monks. There are the development of the monk's health behaviors along with the creation of factors which are contributed to promoting health and health service of monks. As a results, monks adjust their healthy habits and adjust their routines in accordance with the epidemic situation of COVID-19. and create a network to promote the health of monks, consisting of the Buddhist network, health, government, private sector, education sector, and people's sector.
