THE DEVELOPMENT OF ACTIVE LEARNING MANAGEMENT PROGRAM OF MATHEMATICS TEACHER SURIN SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL SERVICE AREA OFFICE

Abstract

The purposes of this study were : 1) to investigate current conditions, desirable conditions and the necessity of active learning of mathematics teacher and, 2) to develop programs of active learning management of mathematics which is the mixed methods research. The samples were 205 mathematics teachers, 3 administrators and 3 mathematics teachers who are expert in active learning management. The instruments used for gathering data were questionnaire, semi - structure interview and assessment of appropriateness and feasibility of the program. The statistics used for analyzing the collected data were percentage, mean and standard deviation. The results showed that; 1)The results of the examining of the current conditions of active learning of mathematics teacher was overall in average level and the desirable condition was overall in the highest level. The needs assessment to the development of active learning of mathematics teacher which ordered from greatest to least were Learning management design, Learning by doing and thinking, The application of media and technology learning management, and learning measurement and evaluation. 2)The Active Learning Management Program for Mathematics Teacher Development consisted of (1) Principle (2) Objective (3) Content which consisted of 4 modules ; Learning management design, Learning by doing and thinking, The application of media and technology learning management, and Learning measurement and evaluation. (4) Development activities consisted of workshop and self - learning, and (5) The measurement and evaluation consisted of Cognitive assessment pre - and post - test for program participation ,The ability assessment of active learning management ,and The satisfaction of program participants. The result of the overall program assessment in appropriation and possibility was at the highest level.
