THE DEVELOPMENT OF INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL TO PROMOTE CRITICAL THINKING AND ACHIEVEMENT IN CHEMISTRY CHEMICAL BOND UNIT FOR 10TH GRADE STUDENT

Abstract

          The objectives of this research article were to 1) study the guidelines for learning activities, 2) study the development of effective teaching model and the standard index of teaching style 3) study the result of using teaching model and 4) to study students’ satisfaction towards teaching model. It was a development research. The population included the fourth - year students of Dechapattanayanukul School. The sample consisted of 35 students in class of 4/6 by using cluster random sampling. The research instrument consisted of 1) learning activity demand questionnaire 2) interview form 3) critical thinking test 4) learning achievement test and 5) student satisfaction assessment form. The data were analyzed using content analysis, mean, standard deviation and t - test dependent samples. The research results were found that; 1) Results of study Guidelines for mathematics learning activities need knowledge before learning in groups that need time to think and exchange knowledge together within the content. It can be realized through group discussions and participation in large group discussions between teachers and students. 2) The teaching model was effective learning achievement and critical thinking at 83.05/82.52 and 83.10/82.88, respectively, and had an index (E.I.) on achievement and thinking. There were reported levels of 0.76 and 0.77 respectively. 3) The results of using the teaching model showed that students' partner thinking and post - study achievement were significantly higher than before at level 05. 4) The students were satisfied with the teaching style at the highest level ( = 4.51 and S.D. = 0.50).
