Development of Explanation Writing skill Package using the Infographic from the Oral Literature about Wat Sing in Bang Khu Wieng, Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi

Abstract

ABSTRACT

The objectives of this research were to 1) develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the Explanation Writing skill Package using the Infographic from the Oral Literature about Wat Sing in Bang Khu Wieng, Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi, using an 80/80 criterion. 2) compare Explanation Writing skill scores before and after using the skill package. 3) investigate the satisfaction of students using the skill package. The population were 32 undergraduate students enrolled in the 013001 Thai for Communication course at Rajapruk University during the first semester of the academic year 2022. The research instruments were: 1) Explanation Writing skill Package using the Infographic from the Oral Literature about Wat Sing in Bang Khu Wieng, Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi 2) pre-post test, and 3) student satisfaction questionnaire regarding the Explanation Writing skill Package using the Infographic from the Oral Literature about Wat Sing in Bang Khu Wieng, Bang Kruai, Nonthaburi. Data were analyzed using percentage, mean, and standard deviation.  

The result of the study showed that: 1) the efficiency of the skill package was 81.92/85.36, which was higher than the standard criterion of 80/80.  2) Students' average post-test score was 15.00, significantly higher than the pre-test average score of 11.81. The students passed the criterion 28 persons (87.50 percent), with ‘good’ level 21 persons (65.62 percent), and ‘very good level’ 7 persons (21.88 percent). 3) Overall student satisfaction with the skill package was high level ( = 3.98). The aspect with the highest average satisfaction score was content ( =4.04, followed by assessment and evaluation ( =4.00), presentation format (  = 3.96) and the use of infographics in explanation writing ( = 3.91)
