Buddhist Methods of Research Project Management

Abstract

Applying Buddhist principles to research project management offers a novel approach to planning and problem-solving throughout the research process. This article introduces a comprehensive framework of Buddhist Methods of Research Project Management that can be universally applied across all levels of research. The framework comprises three key phases: 1) the Upstream research process, which encompasses research project planning; 2) the Midstream research process, which involves the execution of the research; and 3) the Downstream research process, which focuses on research report composition. These phases encompass five core components: 1) Planning, 2) Organizational Management, 3) Personnel Management, 4) Administration, and 5) Supervision. The paper elucidates how these five elements, grounded in Buddhist principles, can be synergistically employed to enhance research methodology.
