Abstract

Opinions were collected from 63 long stay Japanese pensioner tourists in
Chiangmai province, and from interview sessions with 8 Chiangmai administrators responsible for the tourism industry in the province. It was found that the provision of information to promote correct understanding among target customer groups is required for the management of the long stay tourism project in Thailand. This report discusses the issues of niche marketing, customers’ response, and communication for promotion, which are important for the efficient, successful, and sustainable management of long stay tourism in Thailand.
