Article Processing Charge (APC)
In order to maintain its open-access and freely accessible nature, the Journal of Population and Social Studies (JPSS) has implemented an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 10,000 Thai Baht for all accepted articles submitted from 1 January 2023. This APC covers the administrative and managerial costs associated with peer review, publishing operations, and other necessary administrative functions involved in processing received manuscripts.
It is important to note that the APC does not include any language editing services. Therefore, authors whose papers are accepted for publication in JPSS must arrange for their own language editing service to ensure their manuscript meets the academic language requirements. However, JPSS does offer a language editing service upon request, available at an additional cost of 10,000 Thai Baht. This service encompasses comprehensive language editing, manuscript formatting, and thorough verification and formatting of references to meet the Journal's requirements.
The APC and language editing service fee should be paid once the manuscript has been accepted for publication. An invoice will be issued to the corresponding author during the proofreading stage of the accepted manuscript. Authors are kindly requested to settle the payment within one week of receiving the invoice to prevent any potential retraction of the manuscript or delay in the online publication.
Please be informed that JPSS does not impose any submission charges or fees for articles that are rejected during the review process.
Refund Policy
JPSS acknowledges that errors can occur on our part that may prevent the publication of an article. In such cases, we are committed to refunding the APC to the author. However, it is important to note that if an article is retracted due to author error or misconduct, the APC will not be refunded.
We strive to ensure the utmost accuracy and integrity in our publication process. In instances where our errors hinder the publication of an article, we take full responsibility and promptly issue the appropriate refund. Please rest assured that we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards of transparency and fairness in our operations.
If you have any further questions regarding the APC refund policy or any other matter related to the publication process, please do not hesitate to contact our editorial office.
Waiver and Discount
JPSS recognizes the importance of promoting inclusivity and supporting authors from low-income countries. To facilitate their participation and ensure equitable access to our publication, we offer waivers for the APC with a 100% discount to authors from these countries. The eligibility of low-income countries is determined based on the World Bank list, which can be found at https://data.worldbank.org/?locations=XN-XM.
Additionally, we understand that authors from lower-middle-income countries, as classified by the World Bank, may also face financial constraints. In such cases, we are open to considering discount requests for the APC. The discount offered will not exceed 50% of the standard APC.
Authors who are eligible for an APC waiver or wish to request a discount can submit their request by sending an email to jpss.ipsr@gmail.com. Our team will carefully review each request and respond accordingly, taking into account the circumstances and the overall goal of promoting global research collaboration and knowledge dissemination.
We encourage authors who may benefit from these waivers or discounts to take advantage of this opportunity to share their valuable research with the scholarly community. Should you have any inquiries or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for a full waiver of the APC or to receive a discounted rate, authors must meet the following criteria:
-
All authors listed on the paper must be residents of a low-income country, area, or territory within low-income countries (for a full waiver) or lower-middle-income countries (for a discounted rate), as classified by the World Bank list.
-
The research presented in the paper must have been carried out in a low-income country, area, or territory within low-income countries (for a full waiver) or lower-middle-income countries (for a discounted rate), as classified by the World Bank list.
-
The research must be unfunded, and/or there is no funding available to support the publication of the research.
By adhering to these criteria, we aim to support authors from economically disadvantaged regions and facilitate the dissemination of their valuable research findings. We encourage eligible authors to take advantage of the APC waiver or discount and submit their manuscripts for consideration in JPSS.
