Abstract

This paper explores the use of digital media in transnational communication. The digital media make distant communication from countries to countries possible with great speed. The impacts of these media on users around the world are becoming more obvious as the number of people involved with this tool rapidly increase. Informal communication, leisure, work, and political participation are affected by fast technology diffusion.


The use of The Internet, computer games, and telephones are among empirical evidence discussed. It can be concluded that the ability of this media is not only the ability to compress the sense of time and space, but they also make greater difference in the sense of time and space. Therefore, the digital media might ruin relationship if used without precautions.
