Abstract

The survey research on Thai People’s Media and Health Information Exposure’s objective was to investigate how Thai People expose to media


and information that conveyed health risk messages. The findings will be useful for planning and making guidelines for communicating to prevent and control diseases and health hazards. This will lead to reduce prevalence and death.


The survey was conducted in 2015 by randomly sampling among the target population having the age of 15 and above. The stratified sampling had done according to urban/rural society characteristic, sex, and age in proportion with Thai population. There were 2,607 respondents. It found that the majority of people received information on disease and health risks from the televisions the most at the frequency of once a day, whereas the newspapers, which was also considered as     one type of mass media, was received the least at the frequency of once a week.  Many people from rural areas reported that they did not get information from newspaper at all, while people from urban areas reported that they receive the information from the Internet, and the social networking sites at least once a day. However, the majority of people from the rural areas reported that they did not receive the information from the Internet.
