Understanding Civil Society through the new lens: Civil Society Diamond Approach

Abstract
This paper examines or surveys the primary status of the features and the roles of civil society as the interaction space for various actors. The paper consists of parts: firstly, the survey of the features and the roles of civil society based on the western theory in 18th Century and secondly, the survey based on the systematic analysis called ‘Civil Society Diamond’ (CSD), which the third sector or the NGO is the political space having a complex aspect in nature.
