Coffee Production and Marketing in Thailand

Abstract
This study consists of three major objectives: first, to study coffee production in Thailand; second, and to study coffee marketing in Thailand. The scope of this investigation is to study all coffee growing provinces in Thailand and trends in production, marketing, parameter modeling and calculating in coffee production and marketing in Thailand The study is both qualitative and quantitative. The study found that coffee is an important economic crop, but some problems in production and production situation still remain that cause farmers to reduce growing areas. Also exporting problems lead to government intervention in price every year, including farmgate prices and the coffee bean export price fluctuation regarding world price. Moreover, production costs in Thailand are higher than in competing countries. The price of coffee is quite low due to the slowdown of demand in the market and coffee quality does not meet the market need.
