Abstract

This quantitative research compares differences in personal factors affecting perceptions of influencers and the purchasing decision-making process, as well as the impact of influencers on the purchasing decision-making process among Generation Z consumers in modern retail businesses. Data were collected from 400 respondents and analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and inferential statistics, including one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and multiple regression.

The results showed that the respondents had overall high opinions of influencer characteristics and the decision-making process in purchasing retail products. Additionally, gender and average monthly income affected perceptions of influencers, whereas occupation, educational level, and marital status had no effect on views toward influencers. Gender, educational level, and marital status affected decision-making in purchasing retail products, while occupation and average monthly income had no influence. Influencers significantly affected the purchasing decision-making process in retail businesses, accounting for 80.9% of the variance in the process.
