CHINESE CULTURAL LEARNING IN YAOWARAT COMMUNITY THROUGH ONLINE VIRTUAL MUSEUM

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study and create the knowledge of culture, tradition, and way of life of the Yaowarat community 2) create an online virtual museum technology media to preserve arts and culture, traditions, and good way of life of the Yaowarat community in the digital age 3) study the satisfaction of learning through online virtual museum to preserve arts and culture, traditions, and the way of life of the Yaowarat community. The mixed methods research used the concept of cultural capital and a virtual museum as a conceptual framework. The 60 informants were collected from the leaders, community scholars, and people in the community for studying and collecting information on cultures, traditions, and way of life, and 404 samples were from the sample size determination according to Yamane Formula. The research data were collected through in-depth interviews and questionnaire, and analyzed with content analysis, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The research results were found as follows; 1)The knowledge consisted of cultural and traditional knowledge inherited within the Yaowarat community and other knowledge. 2) The creation of online virtual museum technology media inherited arts and cultures, traditions, and the way of life of the Yaowarat community in the digital age. It is a public relations and promotion of knowledge through the online virtual museum website. 3) The satisfaction learning through virtual online museum inheriting arts and cultures, traditions and the way of life of the Yaowarat community was at the highest level.
The knowledge from this research can be applied and developed in education, especially in teaching and learning about the Chinese culture in Thailand, and the learning can be conducted through a 360° online virtual museum that is a way of learning, carrying, and publishing the cultures, traditions, and way of life of Yaowarat community towards any people. They have learned and gained various knowledge anywhere and anytime. It is also public relations and generates more income for the community.
