PROPOSAL FOR MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION GOVERNANCE OF THE SYSTEM TO PREVENT THE SOCIAL VIOLENCE IN DIGITAL MEDIA

Abstract

The objectives of this research article are 1) to study the problems and factors affecting the management and mechanism of news governance to prevent social violence in the digital  media; 2) to make a proposal for cooperation to build an effective news governance mechanism for the media to prevent social violence in digital media 3) to develop a proposal for cooperation on building an effective news governance mechanism for the media to prevent social violence in digital media. It is qualitative research. The conceptual framework for the analysis was management, violence management, digital media, 26 executives and practitioners of 13 media regulatory agencies were selected by purposive selection. There are 3 types of research tools: 1. content analysis 2.in-depth interview form and group interview. Data were analyzed by descriptive writing.

The results showed that : 1) The factors use to create the proposal were the regulation from the government, self-regulation, technology, people, the guides book and case study, media literacy, media usage and gratification, media research and development units in media organizations. 2) The factors concern in proposals are regulation, education on media literacy to the public audience. 3)The results find the factors other than the proposal resulted from the second objective, namely the development of media task to achieve work under media ethics by establishing a research and development unit in the media organization.

          This research knowledge will be useful in the management and system of news governance to prevent violence in digital media. The regulator from government and private agencies can apply the factors from the research results to solve the problem and to prevent the media from reporting the violent content to social violence in the future.
