STRATEGIES ON SUPERVISION COMPETENCY DEVELOPMENT USING SELF–DIRECTED LEARNING OF EDUCATIONAL SUPERVISORS UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE BASIC EDUCATION COMMISSION

Abstract

The present research aimed to achieve three objectives: (1) to conduct a survey of the perceptions held by educational supervisors regarding the current state and the ideal state of competence development through self-directed learning; (2) to formulate a strategy for the development of supervision competence through self-directed learning among study supervisors; and (3) to assess the suitability and practicality of the strategies devised for competence development through self-directed learning among educational supervisors. This research employed a mixed-methods approach.

          The findings of this research indicate the following regarding the strategies for supervision competency development through self-directed learning among educational supervisors under the Office of the Basic Education Commission: (1) The current state of these strategies is perceived to be at a high level, while the desired state is considered to be at the highest level. (2) The author's strategy for supervision competency development through self-directed learning encompasses a vision, four missions, five objectives, six strategies, twenty project goals, and twenty-three indicators. (3) The overall appropriateness and feasibility of the author's strategies for supervision competency development through self-directed learning is considered to be at the highest level.
