PRINCIPLE OF BLESSED LIFE IN WIN LYOVARIN’S SERM KAMLANGJAI

Abstract

The objective of this paper aims to study the principles of blessed life in Win Lyovarin’s Serm Kamlangjai book. This research is qualitative research using a book titled Mongkon Yord Cheevit (or Blessed Life) completed version by Somdet Phra Maha Veerawong (Pim Dhammadharo) and analysis framework for examining morality in all 16 collections.
It was found that Win Lyovarin presented morality which was agreeing with 26 principles of blessed life out of total 38 principles. The 26 principles included 1 (Not Associating with the Fool), 2 (Associating with the Wise), 4 (Living in an Amenable Location), 6 (Setting Oneself up Properly in Life), 7 (Artfulness in Knowledge), 8 (Artfulness in Application), 9 (Artfulness in Usage), 10 (Artfulness in Speech), 12 (Raising our Children), 13 (Cherishing our Spouse), 14 (Not Leaving Work Undone), 15 (Generosity), 16 (Practice of Dharma), 18 (Blameless Work), 19 (Abstinence from Unwholesomeness), 20 (Restraint from Drinking Intoxicants), 21 (Non-Recklessness in the Dharma), 22 (Respect), 23 (Humility), 24 (Contentment), 25 (Gratitude), 27 (Patience), 29 (The Sight of a True Monk), 31 (Practice of Austerities), 32 (Practice of Noble Conducts), and 33 (Seeing the Four Noble Truths).
The findings reveal that Win Lyovarin’s thoughts and attitude presented through the content of the studied book collections are to encourage the readers to consider and to behave for their own and the society because the presented thoughts and attitude are suitable for practicing in real life. Therefore, Win Lyovarin’s Serm Kamlangjai book collections are worth reading and they help uplift the readers’ moral consideration and reality of life.
