THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR THAI TEACHERS OF MATHAYOMSUKSA 3 TO DEVELOP CRITICAL READING ABILITY USING ONLINE TEXTS WITH KWLH-PLUS TECHNIQUE

Abstract

This Article aimed to study The objectives of this research were 1) to study the development of teacher knowledge about the professional learning community and KWLH-Plus technique. 2) to study teacher’s teaching ability about the critical reading with KWLH-Plus technique. 3) to study the student’s post-learning achievement about critical reading ability using online texts with KWLH-Plus technique were passed the specified criterion is 75 percent. 4) to study the opinion of teachers toward the development of the professional learning community with KWLH-Plus technique.

    The research instruments used were: 1) The teacher knowledge test about the development of teacher knowledge about the professional learning community and KWLH-Plus technique. 2) The teaching observation form 3) The knowledge sharing interview form. 4) the critical reading ability with KWLH-Plus technique lesson plans. 5) The critical reading ability test. 6) a questionnaire used to survey the teacher’s opinion on the development of teacher knowledge about the professional learning community and KWLH-Plus technique.              The research results were found as follows;

1. The development of teachers’ knowledge about the professional learning community and KWLH-Plus technique were higher than in pre-test with the relative gain score at 100 percent and 88.67 percent at the high level.
2. The teacher’s teaching ability by using the critical reading with KWLH-Plus technique were at 82.22 percent with the high level.
3. The posttest critical reading ability test with KWLH-Plus technique of students was 80.85 percent that was higher than the specified criterion is 75 percent.
4. The teachers’ opinion toward the development of teacher knowledge about the professional learning community and KWLH-Plus technique were at high agreement level.
