A MODEL DEVELOPMENT FOR INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP IN THE EDUCATION COMMITTEE BUDDHIST, SAVANNAKHET, LAO PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC

Abstract

The objectives of this research article are to 1) examine the components of leadership among the Education Committee Buddhist, 2) create and develop a leadership development model for the Education Committee Buddhist, and 3) evaluate the progress in leadership among the Education Committee Buddhist after development. The research and development methodology was employed. The sample group consisted of 81 individuals, including administrators and teachers from general Sangha education schools, selected through purposive sampling. The research tools included unstructured interviews, rating scale questionnaires, and a leadership assessment form for the Education Committee Buddhist. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.

          The study results revealed that: 1)The leadership components of the Education Committee Buddhist consist of 5 main components, 12 sub-components, and 53 indicators as follows: (1) Vision, goals, and mission setting, with 2 sub-components and 12 indicators; (2) Curriculum management, with 2 sub-components and 9 indicators; (3) Management environment creation, with 3 sub-components and 13 indicators; (4) Personnel development, with 2 sub-components and 9 indicators; and (5) Supervision and monitoring, with 3 sub-components and 10 indicators. 2)The leadership development model for the Education Committee Buddhist consists of: (1) Principles (2) Objectives (3) Content (4) Development process (5) Media and learning resources and 6) Evaluation and assessment. 3)The leadership progress of the Education Committee Buddhist, based on the developed model, was at the highest level. The leadership of the Sangha Education Commissioners in Savannakhet Province after implementing the model was higher than before. The overall progress percentage was 31.00%.
