This mixed-method research aimed to propose a transformational leadership model of school administrators under the Office of the Secondary Education Service Area, Chiang Mai. The research was conducted in 3 steps: 1) Studying the components of the transformational leadership model using a questionnaire with a sample of 320 people randomly selected from school administrators and teachers. Data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. 2) Focus group discussions with 9 experts to draft the model and analyze the data using content analysis. A form was used to assess the validity, appropriateness, and feasibility of the developed model. Data were analyzed using statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
The findings revealed that: 1. The transformational leadership model of school administrators consists of 5 components: Strategic planning, Vision creation and goal setting, Building relationships with personnel, Communication, and Teamwork. And the relationship between variables was examined by the variables with statistically significant relationship less than 0.001 (2-tailed) in all pairs. 2.The evaluation results of the developed transformational leadership model of educational administrators found that overall it was accurate, appropriate, and feasible at a high level. 3. The new knowledge obtained from this research shows a significant connection between all 5 components of transformational leadership, which can be a guideline for developing leaders in educational institutions, emphasizing the importance of strategic planning, vision, relationships, communication, and teamwork in a balanced and consistent manner. The development of skills in each area, such as creating a vision or building relationships with personnel, affects each other, which makes the development of leaders in all areas important in creating success in change. The development of a curriculum for developing educational leaders emphasizes the development of skills in each component simultaneously.
