A STUDY OF THE TRAVEL EXPERIENCES OF THAI TOURISTS VISITING THE RATTANAKOSIN ISLAND AREA.

The aims of this study were to investigate experiences of Thai tourists who have visited Ratanakosin Island, their satisfaction of Rattanakosin Island, and comparison between the tourists’ experiences and their satisfaction when visited Ratanakosin Island area. This study employed a quantitative approach. The sample in this study included 400 Thai tourists and used random sampling method. The research tool was a digital qualified questionnaire. The statistical data used for analyzing data were percentages, mean scores, and standard deviations including t-test, Chi Square test, and one-way analysis of variance.
The research results found that (1) most of respondents were between 40 - 49 years old, with a similar proportion of males and females. Most of them were private sector employees with bachelor's degree level and had relatively high average income 25,001-30,000 baht. (2) Thai tourists often visited Rattanakosin Island during weekdays in daytime and preferred traveling with friends. Nearly every tourist who participated in this study spent one day trip. The majority had travel expenses between 151-200 baht/person/day and no purchase of souvenirs. (3) Thai tourists had high satisfaction in the following aspects such as tourist attractions, safety & security as well as accommodation. Additionally, they were most satisfied with temples and the Buddha worship activities. (4) Tourists who travelled around Rattanakosin Island area at different times were satisfied with activity aspects with statistical significance differences, for instance accessibility (driving a private car), service of tourist attractions, and safety & security.
