Abstract

The objectives of this mixed-method research were to investigate the contexts, problems and factors facilitating the management of the paradigm, to develop and verify the administrative management paradigm of the digital learning ecosystem, and to assess the paradigm of the digital learning ecosystem management. The research framework was based on the concepts of digital learning ecosystem and administrative management paradigm. The informants comprised 43 experts and specialists for a focus group discussion, an interview, a workshop, a connoisseurship, and a public hearing, and they were obtained by means of the purposive sampling method; and 365 school administrators and teachers for answering the questionnaire obtained by applying the simple random sampling method. The instruments were composed of the component verification and confirmation form, the questionnaire, the interview, the workshop summary form, the accuracy and propriety verification form, and the feasibility and utility assessment. The quantitative data were statistically analyzed for frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The content analysis and descriptions were used to analyze the qualitative data. The results are summarized as follows.
1. The contexts, problems, and facilitating factors revealed that the mean of the administrative contexts was at a high level, while the mean of the problems was at a low level. The facilitating factors included the internal factors comprising personnel, budget, equipment and management, and the external factors consisting of society, technology, economy and politics.
2. The results of the development and verification of the paradigm revealed that the paradigm comprised thinking methods, implementation methods, planning success evaluation methods, organizing, recruiting, directing, and controlling as well as the internal and external factors. Overall, all items were accurate and appropriate.
3. The assessment of the paradigm revealed that all items were feasible and beneficial with the mean at the highest level.
