DEVELOPMENT OF VALUE CHAIN CAPACITY TO PROFESSIONALISM FOR SUSTAINABILITY FOR PATTANI COMMUNITY ENTERPRISES

Abstract

This research aims to​ ​investigate​ approaches to develop the value chain capacity of Pattani community enterprises​ to professionalism for sustainability​​. ​It is a​​ qualitative research using ​Delphi​ technique​​ with​​ Pattani​​ Province​​ area​​ as a case study​.

The results showed that, regarding 4M's of resource management, man should be developed with knowledge and skills in production and services. For money, sufficiency economy philosophy and self-reliance principles of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great should be applied in management. Material derived from educational outcomes of local educational institutions should be used. Management should focus on sufficiency economy philosophy and self-reliance principles as a core of Pattani community enterprise management. Regarding the issue of value chain analysis in the main activities of inbound logistics, there should be a pre-order system to be used in production planning and supplying good and qualified raw materials, standard criteria for ordering raw materials, as well as accountable raw material storage and disbursement systems. Manufacturing should focus on the development of production knowledge and skills and should promote the processing process to create value-added products and standards. Outbound logistics should be in collaboration to ensure efficient and fast product delivery through local network connection, as well as cooperation with Pracharat Rak Samakkee Pattani Social Enterprise to promote the distribution of community value-added processed products through Farm Outlet Pattani. In marketing and sales, a brand should be built to create buyer awareness and communicate product identity. Additionally, for service providing, a subscription system should be created to sell products and technology should be used to provide services. As for value chain analysis of support activities, procurement networks and standard criteria should be developed to search for quality raw materials. Technology development should be conducted by allocating a budget to research and develop products to meet the current consumption, different from the traditional work concept by integrating research principles into production. Human resource management should be conducted based on sufficiency economy philosophy, self-reliance principles, and 23 work principles of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great. For firm infrastructure, work style and responsibilities should be clearly defined, as well as sharing society system should be promoted to help each other.
