MON'S EMBROIDERY CLOTH: CONSERVATION AND VALUE-ADDED CREATION FOR TOURISM IN A CREATIVE ECONOMY TALAT CHINDA SUBDISTRICT NAKHON PATHOM PROVINCE

Abstract

The purposes of this research article are to 1) study the importance of Mon’s embroidery cloth among the Mon ethnic group in Talad Jinda Subdistrict. 2) study the process of transferring wisdom in Mon’s embroidery cloth in Talad Chinda Subdistrict. 3) present ideas for conservation and value creation. Add to Mon’s embroidery cloth on tourism in the creative economy. Talat Chinda Subdistrict Nakhon Pathom Province. This qualitative study deployed documentary analysis and in-depth interview with 30 key informants including the Thai Raman ethnic group in Talat Jinda subdistrict, local administrators community developer and those involved There are 4 types of instruments used in the research: surveys, interviews, and observation records and group discussion guidelines with a definite structure Data were analyzed using content analysis and written descriptive narratives. The results of the research found that 1) Mon’s embroidery cloth is a clothing item that shows the identity of the Mon people. Indicates the ethnic way of life reflected through the embroidery of the cloth with various patterns. Used to cover when entering the temple or during important ceremonies, can be used by all genders and ages 2) the process of transferring the wisdom of Mon’s embroidery cloth in Talad Chinda Subdistrict there are 4 methods of transmission: (1) demonstration, (2) telling, (3) practice, and (4) learning. 3) conservation and creation of additional value for the Mon’s embroidery cloth in the field of tourism in the creative economy arises from the promotion of local wisdom or local philosophers. To be able to transmit wisdom and providing opportunities to develop quality work to be known and widely accepted It is also organized as a tourism activity to learn local wisdom for the community for the general public to have easy access and can learn various processes in production more conveniently.
