A MODEL OF TEACHER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN THE DIGITAL ERA FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN THE NORTH-EAST

This research article aimed to 1) study the appropriate components of teacher leadership in the digital era, 2) formulate and develop a model of teacher leadership development in the digital era, and 3) validate the effectiveness of the digital leadership development model for primary school teachers in the Northeast. The research employed a Research and Development approach, which was conducted in three phases and seven stages. The samples, selected using the Multi-Stage Random Sampling technique, consisted of 375 teachers from 375 primary schools in the Northeast during the academic year 2021. The key informants, selected through purposive sampling, included twenty primary school teachers from the Fifth Basic Education Network Center under the office of Sakon Nakhon Primary Educational 2. The research instruments included 1) a structured interview form, 2) a questionnaire, and 3) a behavioral assessment form. Descriptive statistics, such as Percentage, Mean, and Standard Deviation, were used for data analysis.
The findings revealed as follows: the components of teacher leadership in the digital era consisted of four major components, sixteen sub-components, and sixty indicators: 1) Knowledge of teaching with 7 sub-components and 15 indicators; 2) Digital literacy with 4 sub-components and 15 indicators; 3) Technology literacy for instruction with 2 sub-components and 15 indicators; and 4) Understanding technology transformation with 3 sub-components and 15 indicators. The model of teacher leadership development in the digital era for primary schools in the Northeast included principles, objectives, contents, developing processes, instructional media, and measurement and evaluation. When assessing the effectiveness of the digital leadership development model for primary school teachers in the Northeast, it was found to be suitable at the highest level overall (X ̅= 4.67). The Effectiveness Index (E.I.) of the digital leadership development model of primary school teachers in the Northeast showed a higher level of development compared to before the operation phase, with a percentage of 70.
