THE DEVELOPMENT OF READING COMPREHENSION AND CRITICAL THINKING ABILLITY OF GRADE 5 STUDENTS BY SQ6R LEARNING MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES TOGETHER WITH ONLINE LEARNING RESOURCES

Abstract

The purpose of this research is 1) Develop the reading comprehension skill of Grade 5 students with SQ6R learning management activities together with online learning resources by having a passing criterion of not less than 70% of students passing the criteria of over 70% and 2) Develop the critical thinking skills from reading comprehension of Grade 5 students with SQ6R learning management activities together with online learning resources by having a passing criterion of not less than 70% of students passed the criteria of over 70%. The target group of this research is a class of Grade 5 students of Ban Ngew Sirirat Bamrung School, chosen by the purposive selection method. Active research with 3 cycles, having 3 types tools being used; 1) the tools used for learning process management are a learning management plan (2) the tools used for reflecting the research results are a record form after learning management (3) an analytical thinking assessment form and (4) reading comprehension skill assessment form. Lastly, 3) the tools used for analyzing the information (1) a reading comprehension test after completing each cycle, (2) the critical analysis test was conducted in the final session. The quantitative information was analyzed using the basic statistics, and which Standard Deviation (S.D) were average (x) and percentage, while the qualitative information was analyzed using the content analysis
The research found that: 1) The reading comprehension skill of Grade 5 students with SQ6R learning management activities together with online learning resources were students passed the criteria, indicating that 100% of the students passed the criteria 71.70 percent or more. 2) The critical thinking skills from reading comprehension of Grade 5 students with SQ6R learning management activities together with online learning resources were students passed the criteria, indicating that 100% of the students passed the criteria 70 percent or more.
