This objectives of this research were 1) to develop the critical-thinking skills of Mathayomsuksa 5 students through problem-based learning to enable 80% of students to pass 80% or more of the criteria, and 2) to develop the creative problem-solving skills of Mathayomsuksa 5 students through problem-based learning management to enable 80% of students to pass 80% or more of the criteria. The target group comprised 44 Mathayomsuksa students at Khon Kaen Wittayayon School. The study included action research comprising 3 cycles. The research tools can be divided into 3 types including 1) action research tools involving action-level learning plans that emphasize critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to solve creative problem 2) tools used to reflect on the operational results, consisting of an observation form on learning management behavior and a final test used to measure critical-thinking skills as well as measure students' creative problem-solving skills after the completion of teaching in each practical cycle is completed, and 3) tools to assess critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. Quantitative data were analyzed using basic statistics, namely mean (𝑥̅) standard deviation (S.D.) and percentage (Percentage). Data were analyzed by content analysis and summarized in an essay with an analytical description.
The research results found that:
- The development of critical-thinking skills among Mathayomsuksa 5 students through problem-based learning management (PBL) revealed 44 students who passed the criteria, representing 100% passing the criteria with an average of 80%. It was found that 83.98% of students passed the criteria with 80% or more according to the specified criteria.
- The development of creative problem-solving skills among Mathayomsuksa 5 students through problem-based learning management (PBL) showed there were 44 students who passed the criteria, representing 100% passing the criteria with an average of 80%.
