Public participation in the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province
Abstract
The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the public participation in the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province, 2) to study the factors related to the public participation in the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province, and 3) to study the suggestions for the public participation in the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province. The research was quantitative. The population was people from all walks of life living in Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality. There were 2,010 people whose named were on the list of voters in Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality. The sample size was 337 people. The sample size was determined according to the table of Taro Yamane. The tool used in the research was a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using percentages, averages, and standard deviations. t-test and F-test.
The research results found that: 1) the public participation in the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province, overall, was at a high level ( = 3.92) and when considered in each aspect, it was found that participation was at a high level, followed by participation in development planning ( = 4.00), participation in administration ( = 3.88), participation in administrative inspection ( = 3.94), and participation in following up on news ( =3.87) respectively. 2) the factors related to the public participation in the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province, as a whole and in each area, classified by gender, age, marital status, and education level, family size and different average, monthly incomes were found to contribute to the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, not different (p>.05). 3) the suggestions for the public participation in the development of Sai Noi Subdistrict Municipality, Sai Noi District, Nonthaburi Province was found that people wanted to know details of the municipality's work, especially regarding operations. The parcel would like the municipality to organize activities together with other local administrative organizations to create unity, participate in planning the development of your own community.
