The Elderly’s Abilities in Self-Reliant Based on Sufficicecy Economic in Muange District, Phisnulok Province

Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study the elderly’s ability in self-reliant 2) study the compliance followed  sufficient economy for elderly’s self-reliant  and 3) compare the elderly’s ability in self-reliant and the compliance followed the   sufficient economy for elderly’s self-reliant.   It was a qualitative research. The sample was 253 elderly that were  calculated  by Taro Yamane’s formula and selected by the convenient  sampling method.   The research instrument  was a questionnaire for studying the elderly’s ability in self-reliant based on   sufficient economy. The data analysis  used  frequency, average, standard deviation, hypothesis test by t-test and f-test.  The research found that in overall, the elderly have ability in self-reliant at moderate level and compliance followed sufficient economy  at high level. The elderly who are different gender, they did not have  different  ability in self-reliant and compliance followed  sufficient economy.   The elderly who are different age, married status, education level, residence state, career, and income, they have different  ability in self-reliant and compliance followed  sufficient economy. The elderly’s highest frequency opinion to the  ability in self-reliant followed  sufficient economy was; having good health,  enough money for pay, eating  vegetables and fruits and living on moderate ways.

                    The discovered knowledge from this research was the elderly in the community already have good physical and mental health care.  As a result, the community is peaceful and moral. But the community should additionally develop  creative technology skills for elderly.
