Keywords:
Administration,, Good Governance,, Local Government OrganizationsAbstract
This research aimed to examine the present state of administration in local government organizations in Thailand under the principles of good governance. A qualitative research approach was employed, drawing upon related theoretical concepts. Thirty executives from government agencies involved in governance under good governance principles were selected as key informants through purposive sampling and interviewed using a semi-structured in-depth interview method. The data was analyzed through content analysis and presented through descriptive writing.
The findings indicated that administration in local government organizations in Thailand is operating under the principles of good governance in all six areas, including the rule of law, morality, transparency, participation, responsibility, and worthiness. Public services were provided equitably and with adherence to morality and ethics. Information was disclosed and checked for transparency, and participation was encouraged for local residents to propose solutions and contribute to development. Responsibility and trust were demonstrated by meeting local expectations and using resources efficiently. The research provides a proactive, passive, preventive, and solution-oriented approach to effectively manage administration under good governance principles.
