EVALUATION OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EASTERN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR DEVELOPMENT POLICY IN CHACHOENGSAO PROVINCE

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the condition of implementation of the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Policy in Chachoengsao Province; 2) study the performance indicators of the implementation of the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Policy in Chachoengsao Province; 3) present the effectiveness of the implementation of the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Policy in Chachoengsao Province. Qualitative research was conducted. The key informants for the interview were divided into 3 groups of 10 people, consisting of group 1 government agencies/state enterprises, group 2 private agencies, and group 3 representatives from the public, totaling 30 people.
The qualitative research results reveal that 1) the conditions of implementation of the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Policy in Chachoengsao Province in the aspects of road, railway, electricity, water supply, and telecommunication mostly went as planned. 2) The performance indicators of the implementation of the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Policy in Chachoengsao Province in political, economic, social, and environmental aspects have met the clear operational goals, from national goals to EEC area-based goals, then transferred to the provincial level. 3) The implementation of the Eastern Economic Corridor Development Policy in Chachoengsao Province effectively met the expected goals.
As for recommendations, giving opportunities for the private sector and the public to participate in planning and making decisions will ensure that the goals are derived from cooperation with real integration between the government sector, the private sector, and the public.
