THE SUSTAINABILITY OF THE INDUSTRIAL COMMUNITY AMID THE DIVERSITY OF THE PATTANI PROVINCE

For the concept to solve the problem of insurgencies in the southern border provinces using economic system, strengthening industrial communities will partly help reinforce sustainable economic activities on the diversity of natural resources and local inhabitants for collaboration to build the strong and peaceful society. To achieve this, related studies are required in order to apply the body of knowledge as a guideline on building a local industrial community group for sustainable strength in the future. This research aimed to 1) study the sustainability model of the industrial community amid the diversity in Pattani Province, and to 2) reinforce the networks amid the diversity in Pattani Province. This quantitative research studied the concept of industrial development, sustainable development, and networking by interviewing six leaders from the government sector, communities, and networks. Plus, having a focus group discussion with 15 people who were the target group and selected with the purposive sampling. The research tool was an interview form, followed by content analysis and descriptions.
The results revealed that there were 4 sustainability models of the industrial community amid the diversity in Pattani Province, i.e., 1) group sustainability model, 2) community and social sustainability model, 3) economic sustainability model, and 4) environmental sustainability model. There were six techniques to strengthen the industrial community network, i.e., 1) developing the mainstay potential; 2) setting clear objectives; 3) decentralizing the responsibilities; 4) setting collective rules, regulations and agreements; 5) organizing activities for meeting and sharing ideas; 6) monitoring, evaluation, and reporting performance; and 7) building young leaders. As for the body of knowledge obtained from this research, the government and public sectors, relevant agencies, and people interested can adapt this sustainability model and the industrial community network strengthening amid the religious and cultural diversity as the guideline to reinforce their communities.
