Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study the levels of problem-solving proficiency among air chief flight attendants in full-service airlines operating in Thailand, 2) to evaluate the leadership capabilities of air chief flight attendants in these airlines, and 3) to propose guidelines for enhancing problem-solving skills and leadership qualities among air chief flight attendants in full-service airlines in Thailand. For the quantitative aspect, the researcher gathered data through 165 questionnaires selected based on Krejcie & Morgan's (1970) table. Descriptive statistics, specifically Mean and Standard Deviation were employed to analyze the opinions of the sample. The research findings were that respondents had opinions on problem-solving at the highest level. When considering each aspect, it was at the highest level in all three aspects, namely self-control in problem-solving, confidence in problem-solving, and facing or addressing problems. Furthermore, the overall level of opinion on leadership was at the highest level. When considering each aspect, it was at the highest level in all four factors, namely self-awareness, internal morality perspective, balanced decision-making, and relational transparency. To further enhance the capabilities of air chief flight attendants, airlines should focus on developing personal control in problem-solving and refining balanced decision-making skills.
