THE DEVELOPMENT OF INSTRUCTIONAL MODEL TO ENHANCE THE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

This research article is a class action research using the concept of the Basic Education Core Curriculum BE 2551 (Revised 2017), focusing on 21st century education. Researcher as a teacher enhance students to use critical thinking skills as a research framework. The research area is Sriyaphai School. The samples were 2 groups: 1) 24 high school teachers and 2) 48 Mathayom 6 students collected by purposive sampling method. The tools used in the research were 1) Teaching model to enhance critical thinking skills for high school students 2) a learning management plan 3) a manual for using instructional models 4) a critical thinking skill test 5) a behavior assessment form for the critical thinking process 6) a student's opinion test towards the use of teaching and learning styles. Data were analyzed by using statistic of average or qualitative researchMean SD. And Percentage. The results revealed that: 1) Teaching and learning model to enhance critical thinking skills using the PICCA model can build self-confidence, recognizes the importance of critical thinking, sees the relationship and apply the knowledge of critical thinking skills to be applied in daily life. 2) The effectiveness of the teaching and learning model to promote critical thinking skills is composed of: a critical thinking skills Students have enhanced critical thinking skills, the behavior of having more developed critical thinking skills and the satisfaction in using the teaching and learning model to promote critical thinking skills, overall, the students' opinions were at the highest level.
