MANAGEMENT OF CULTURAL HERITAGE AND LOCAL WISDOM OF HAINAN CHINESE PEOPLE AT KOH RAT, DONSAK DISTRICT, SURAT THANI PROVINCE

Culture, traditions, beliefs, as well as wisdom within the community that have their identity and succession are important foundations for the management of cultural heritage to remain with the community. This academic article aims to study the management of cultural heritage and local wisdom of Hainan Chinese people at Ban Koh Rat, Donsak District, Surat Thani Province. The results showed that participation in cultural heritage management is an important mechanism for successful cultural heritage management, which consists of guidelines for the management of natural resources and the environment of the community, guidelines for conservation and development of public spaces and community courtyards, and guidelines for the conservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, these guidelines will be guidelines for cultural heritage management based on the diverse resources of the Ban Koh Rat, in order for those cultural heritages to remain with the community in a sustainable way.
