Abstract

The primary aim of this research was to investigate the level of conflict and enforcement of the 2560 Constitution and to identify the factors that affect conflict and enforcement. The research was conducted using both survey and qualitative research methods, and the sample group consisted of 1,500 Bangkok voters selected from a total population of 4,333,157 through simple random sampling. Data was collected through the use of analytical questionnaires and analyzed using frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and Canonical Correlation Analysis.

The findings of the research indicated that the level of conflict in the gathering of conflicting parties was moderate. The opinions of high-level conflicting parties, policies and goals, and the enforcement of the 2560 Constitution were also at moderate levels. The elections to the House of Representatives (MPs) and the selection of senators were found to be at high levels, while the source of the Prime Minister and the independence of the Constitutional Court were moderate. The National reforms were at a high level, while the transitional chapters were at a moderate level. Furthermore, the research results showed that the factors affecting conflict and enforcement of the 2560 Constitution included the controversial merger of opinion between conflicting parties and the policies and goals of the conflicting parties. The recommendations for improving conflict and enforcing the 2560 Constitution included the need for respect for differences in opinion between conflicting parties, as the 2560 Constitution Drafting Committee aims to meet the demands of the people in enforcing the Constitution under a democratic system with the King as the Head of State.
