Abstract

The objective of this research  is to study the history of the Abhidham matthasangha scriptures. An analysis of the connection of the mind, mental factors, visible object and Nirvana. The method of conducting research is qualitative research. Tools of Research are Compilation from papers, in-depth interviews and analyze descriptive data.

The results of the research revealed that the history of the Abhidhammatthasangha scriptures, Anurudhtha priest had composed 4 types of mind, namely kamavacara citta, rupavaca citta, arupavacar citta and lokuttara citta. An analysis show that the mind and mental factors take place in Chatuvokarnaphum. In Pancavokarabhumi, the mind and the cetasika depend on visible object. In ekvokarnabhumi, there is only visible object. The mind related with Nirvana. Nirvana is an emotion of Gotarabhucit and  Maggacit.

The body of knowledge from the analysis of the mind  revealed that unwholesome cittas caused bad mental factors  and visible object  to arise. But wholesome citta makes good mental factors and visible object to arise.  As for the vipakacitta, it is the result of the unwholesome citta and the wholesome  citta. As for kriya citta  is the mind of an Arahant who attains nirvana.
